Caring For Your Diamond Jewelry

• Never wear fine diamond jewelry when performing tough work. Yes, a diamond is one of the hardest substances, but even a diamond can be chipped or broken by the right blow. After all, that is how diamond cutters do it!
• Never wear diamonds around chlorine bleach or other household chemicals. Chlorine can damage, soften or even discolor the mounting on your diamond jewelry. Never wear diamond jewelry in a chlorinated pool or hot tub.
• You should clean your diamonds once a month or so. Most commercial jewelry cleaners are designed for diamond cleaning but an easy and inexpensive way is to use mild soap or a mixture of detergent and ammonia. Soak the jewelry in the solution. A soft toothbrush can be used to dislodge dust or dirt from under the setting.
• Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth. Always handle clean jewelry by the edges to avoid getting oil from your fingers on your jewelry.
